Vigil: Bloodline

Bloodline kicked off in 1997, continuing the Vigil adventures of Grace Kimble and Greg Tonell. By the time this series begins, Grace had turned Greg into a fellow vampire, Greg had turned into a murderer, and as a result was hunted by high-powered bounty hunters. Grace, meanwhile, was pregnant by Greg. When she decided to abort the baby, it sparked a fight which split the vampiric couple up.

Now, Grace is seeking an abortion, Greg is seeking solace in his ex-fiancée, and a strike force is seeking them both.

As always, this Vigil series proves far more than the usual vampire mayhem. Featuring clean artwork by Mike Iverson and an engaging script by Arvin Loudermilk, it concentrates on the human side of a supernatural drama, and in doing so rises above the tired clichés of so much vampire fiction.
