Hopalong Cassidy (DC)

    (DC, 1954-1959)
™ and © DC Comics, Inc.

When Fawcett publications decided to call it quits in 1953, one of their more popular titles apart from those starring Captain Marvel, was one starring Bill Boyd a.k.a. Hopalong Cassidy. DC assumed publication with the 86th issue and continued on with same pattern of the adventures of Hopalong and his horse, Topper. One of the trademarks of Hopalong was his all black outfit, despite him being a good guy.

An extra bit of trivia: Producers Milk, based out of Fresno, California, still features the late Hopalong Cassidy on their cartons, boasting the legend: “Hoppy’s Favorite”!
