X-Men: ClanDestine

Synraith, a cosmic demon from another dimension has set his sites on Earth. To cross the dimensional interface without interference, he brought Professor Xavier, (along with Colossus), and members of the ClanDestine family, Adam Destine, his daughter Kay, (known as Cuckoo), and the ever-irascible, Gracie, to his homeworld. Meanwhile back on Earth, the rest of the ClanDestine and the X-Men engage in battles predicated on mistaken identity. But that cliched technique of getting heroes to fight is used in good stead this time since not everyone is who they appear to be.

The ClanDestine was fan-favorite, Alan Davis’ creation of a family of super-heroes for Marvel UK. They are a clan and the family name is Destine, get it? It was conceived as a mini-series, but was approved as an ongoing series once acquired by Marvel’s main imprint. The real draw was Alan Davis’ beautiful art which is displayed on wraparound covers and double-page spreads in this crossover mini-series meant to entice X-Men fans to request ClanDestine’s return as the ongoing series only lasted twelve issues.
