As part of its association with the Cartoon Network, DC launched this new Scooby-Doo series in 1997. The form of the series is very much in line with the cartoon: a group of “meddling kids,” which seem transported straight out of the sixties, continually runs across ghosts, goblins, and assorted monsters. Inevitably, the apparition turns out to be the old caretaker of the castle (or some other villain who wants to scare people away from his real estate investments). Scooby-Doo, himself, is the group’s dog, an intelligent hound that usually stumbles across the secret to the mystery while searching for Scooby Snacks.
