Bringing back a much-loved title of the 80s, Marvel has begun to release a new series of Marvel Handbooks—encyclopedic volumes that contain entries for all of Marvel’s many characters. Unlike the previous editions, this new Handbook is split up by teams and “universes,” i.e. The Avengers, Spider-Man, and others. This volume, as the title indicates, focuses on the X-Men universe and the main players in the titles now appearing from Marvel Comics (X-Men, Uncanny X-Men, Astonishing X-Men). Filled with 2 page entries that focus on individual characters, the Handbook contains complete narrative histories of the characters, focusing on key events. The entries also include a power grid index that reveals the character’s power levels in comparison to other characters in the Marvel Universe. Like it’s predecessor from the 80s, these new Handbooks are a must have for the die-hard Marvel Zombie in all of us!
