Wetworks is the story of Team 7, a special operations team under the command of Colonel Dane. Usually a hostage rescue unit, they were sent to Transylvania in the Balkans to destroy a biological warfare agent that a losing faction in the war there was threatening to use to trigger doomsday. In reality, the team was being sent to die.

When the team arrived, they discovered a research complex full of slaughtered scientists and guards, as well as containers filled with strange, silicon-based lifeforms. The creatures were symbiotes, exposure to which gave one of Dane’s men near-invulnerability and enhanced strength. No sooner had this happened than they were attacked by “the Night Tribe,” latter-day vampires that were the real focus of the mission. To escape, the rest of the team merged with the other symbiotes. Now this well-trained team is a well-trained, invincible team—and they’re just a little angry at having been set up.
