Banzai Girl

This comic book, a throwback to the barely gone and hardly missed “Bad Girl” comics (Chaos! Comics, we knew ye entirely too well), is memorable if for no other reason than that it immortalizes the epithet “thongbreath” and proves that you can ride a bicycle wearing high heels, if you really try. Otherwise, you get what you paid for with Banzai Girl: anime fantasy sleaze with the novelty of it having been written and drawn by an attractive young woman (Jinky Coronado).

Which is sad, if true, since the lead spends her time straining to get into awkward poses, all the better to see her chest straining to burst out of her white Catholic School Girl uniform shirts (but don’t worry; thanks to computer coloring, it looks like she’s been laminated into her clothes). In fact, thanks to David Campiti and the gang at Glass House Graphics, the whole comic book shines as if it’s been dipped in clear nail polish. The result being that even the most innocuous scenes have a soft-core porn feel to them. Ew.
