Shaolin Cowboy

Shaolin Cowboy reminds me of the old Monty Python skit, “Scott of the Antarctic” where the film’s director wants the blood of the beaten lion to squirt out in slow motion. The story is so graphically told at such a pace that it would make even Sam Pekinpah blush. That’s not to say that this is not enjoyable—quite the contrary. But admittedly it is not for the squeamish. Very little dialogue accompanies the action, as the action is designed to speak for itself.
