These black and white graphic novels from writer Max Allan Collins (Wild Dog) and artists José Luis Garcia-Lopez (Superman: Kal) and Steve Lieber (Whiteout) collect the individual chapters like Oasis, Sanctuary, and Detour into single volumes. Set within the storyline of the original Road to Perdition, these in-between chapters find Michael O’Sullivan and his son—who are on a quest to strike back at the Capone mob—storming a Kansas City police station, holing up in a country church, and encountering one of the Angel of Death’s former loves on their way to their ultimate confrontation with the Two Jacks. This is, simply put, a must–read. Collins further develops the complex O’Sullivan’s relationship with his son, and the artwork by two of comics’ finest is unsurpassed.
