Bart Simpson’s Treehouse of Horror was a 1995 Halloween treat for fans of the Simpsons, Matt Groening’s dysfunctional television cartoon family. The spooky stories covered here include “Call Me Homer,” “Little Shop Of Homers,” and “Bart People.” Each is a uniquely Simpsonian take on a classic horror tale.

“Little Shop Of Homers” adapts the Broadway favorite Little Shop of Horrors. In this version, it’s about a man-eating plant who has been merged with Homer Simpson’s DNA. As a results, the strange plant feeds on donuts (or in a pinch, people), and begins to devour every donut in Springfield. The other stories spoof Moby Dick (“Call me Homer”) and Cat People (“Bart People”).

The stories were created by comic greats Mike Allred (Madman Adventures), James Robinson (Starman (2nd Series)), and Jeff Smith (Bone).
