Kamikaze Cat

™ and ©1987 Pied Piper Comics

If Howard the Duck had been so successful that Marvel felt the need to change their entire universe over to funny animals, the results might resemble the world of Kamikaze Cat. Written by Mark Hamlin and Roger McKenzie and drawn by Mark Sullivan, this offbeat black-and-white independent from the late 1980s offers a crisp, entertaining, well-told detective story featuring a cast of animals. KC and his girlfriend Boopsie bear some slight resemblance to more famous adult-oriented felines Fritz and Omaha, but the action and attitude keep the premise fresh and original.
