John Neville, a mild-mannered physics professor at Penn State, goes looking for his lab assistant, Emily Ash, and is transported to another world. This world is a place where he must dodge strange creatures, angry mobs, and crossbow bolts in rapid succession, a place where he discovers he’s having the time of his life. But Neville quickly learns that life along the “road” that connects the various dimensions of reality is not all fun and games. As fate would have it, a would-be overlord called Graetwist hopes to break down the barriers between dimensions and bring them all under his control—no matter what the consequences to each of the realities.
