Zetraman
(Antarctic, 1991-1992)
™ and ©1991 Antarctic Press
Zetraman was inspired by various Japanese live-action super-hero shows such as Battle Fever J, Task Force Sun Vulcan, Super-Beast Task Force Liveman and Dynaman. It’s a lighthearted romp of a comic, combining super-heroes, science-fiction, and goofy humor.
Zetraman, who first appeared in the pages of Ben Dunn’s Ninja High School, is a team of three men with superhuman abilities. The team consists of Mike (“Zetra Blue”), Howard (“Zetra Red”), and Phrank (“Zetra Yellow”) who can fight either by themselves, in robotic armor, or in command of a combined Zetra robot.
In this series, they are attacked by the women of Venus, who seek their genetic…err…material to help repopulate the woman-only society on their homeworld. With Ben Dunn handling art duties, this series is a cross between Ultraman and the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.
