Skidmarks

™ and ©1992 Ed Hillyer

Ed (Ilya) Hillyer’s small press series exploring the days and tribulations of Bic, a British lad making it in the everyday world, is collected together for the masses to enjoy. Although not really a “reprint” (the original was photocopied with only forty to sixty issues with hand colored covers), Bic made his first appearance in 1987 in a ten-page chapter that was self-published. The complete seven chapter story is now presented in these three issues of Skidmarks.

Bic lives somewhere between North London and Bristol. A teenager in a typical hooded sweatshirt, this series follows his day-to-day life as he hangs with his friends and makes a nuisance of himself with local shopkeepers, trying to keep a cool attitude but still getting tongue-tied with girls.
