Danger Funnies

    (Cry For Dawn, 1993)
™ and ©1993 Lance Tooks, Front Cover ©1993 Nina Crews

Love. Romance. Danger. Lance Tooks takes these classic comic book themes and presents them with the hard-edged realism of modern life. His leading ladies do not swoon helplessly at the first sign of trouble. His men are not all stalwarts of heroic machismo, measuring their courage by the size of their guns.

The stories are sexy and sensuous, both verbally and visually. There is graphic nudity, but it is presented as a natural part of the story. And unlike many adult magazines, the nudity is not limited to the female characters, adding to the realism of the work.

Tooks is not afraid to confront sensitive subjects, whether it is interracial relationships, the attraction of casual sex, or male nudity. If you are just looking for a quick visual thrill, you should skip this series, because Tooks’ work is solid, well-developed storytelling.
