Superboy/Robin: World’s Finest Three

    (DC, 1996)
™ and ©1996 DC Comics

Superman and Batman officially became partners in 1954, in issue #71 of the original World’s Finest series. This two-issue story continues the tradition with the likely successors of the Man of Steel and Dark Knight.

Superboy, the teen-aged clone created by the Cadmus Project, has fallen under the pheromone spell of Poison Ivy. Ivy’s ultimate goal is to rid the world of human life. Her first target is the Hawaiian Island of Kauai. With Superboy’s aid, Ivy has an excellent chance of success.

It falls to young Tim Drake, the third Boy Wonder to wear the mantle of Robin, to stop them both. Luckily, he’s armed with a secret weapon: the kryptonite ring once used by Lex Luthor against Superman. Now he only has to survive long enough to actually use the ring.

The glitch? Robin’s being stalked by Metallo, the shape-shifting cyborg who uses kryptonite as his primary power source.
