Co-creator Doug Allen, whose work has also appeared in magazines such as National Lampoon and the New Yorker, was heavily influenced by Zap! and other underground comix from the 60’s and 70’s. This collection of bizarre characters and malformed creatures, spawned with partner-in-crime Gary Lieb, pays homage to, and pokes occasional fun at, that influence. Some of the original characters to bear their “seal of idiocy” include Margarita Schnapps, Mr. Pudgy, the Shamrock Squid, Beef Baron, and Fruity Sangria.
