X-Men 2 Prequel: Nightcrawler
(Marvel, 2003)
™ and © Marvel Characters, Inc.
Kurt Wagner led a fairly happy existence as an acrobat in a traveling circus. The profession came somewhat easily to him, since his mutant nature and powers enabled him to perform the required stunts. That world ended for him, though, when his unique appearance and abilities drew the attention of an evil man, the immoral Stryker, who saw a way to use Wagner for his own ends. But first, he would need to turn an innocent, love-struck youth into an assassin. Which would take some doing…
This one-shot set the stage for events in the X-Men movie sequel “X2,” and also gave some previous unseen background information on Kurt Wagner, a.k.a. Nightcrawler. By Chuck Austen and Karl Kerschl.
