Alien vs. Predator: Thrill of the Hunt
(Dark Horse, 2004)
™ and © 2004 Twentieth Century Fox
Humanity is still feeling the effects of a computer virus that crashed civilization. Although much has been restored, a considerable amount of digitally recorded human history has been lost, including some important details about a certain alien species. Imagine their surprise when a space–faring commercial land development consortium gets caught up in a battle between lethal Aliens and fearsome Predators on a planet they thought was inhabited only by wild animals. Plans to build casinos and golf courses get put on hold while the human protagonists fight for their lives. Against this backdrop, a romantically paired biologist and hunter argue about natural selection and the lessons of history, raising themes dramatized by both movie franchises such as corporate capitalism and man’s ambivalent relationship with nature.
— Leland Burrill
