Braving the desolate area called City-Wastes, scavengers Raze and Bron search for clean food. When a member of the subterranean dwellers, derisively referred to as Maggots, steals the fruit-bearing bush right out from under them, Raze and Bron pursue him into the underground catacombs. There they discover that the Maggots possess the legendary Starstone, a source of incredible power. Azrok, the leader of the androids, is also seeking this gem to activate the war machines buried beneath the city and his zeal to possess it is matched by Chela and Seer who need the stone to reclaim their lost civilization.

A few years before he created The Shadowalker Chronicles, writer Gordon Derry penned this fantasy series from Aircel.
