Sinja: Deadly Sins

In thirteenth-century Japan, Junan, the Sinja Master of the Daka-Rya clan, casts a spell to give life to the elements …and he succeeds! Chi (Earth), Ka (Fire), Sui (Water), Moku (Wood), and Kin (Metal) come forth, destroy Junan and his clan, and overrun Japan. Among the dead of the clan is Haratsu Taganaga, but his spirit is rescued by Seishin, the spirit of life. She offers him the opportunity to return to the world of the living and to be reunited with his wife and child—if he will be her warrior against the elemental demons. Of course, he agrees, and his battle commences.

This is a reasonably interesting piece of work, but the sketchy, faux-Jim Lee artwork distracts from the quality of the story.
