WW2: Eastern Front Hell

During the Second World War, Hitler’s attack on the Soviets slowly turned around into an unofficial retreat. Troops were moved rearward to new defensive positions where they could hope for reserves to come in and save them. Unfortunately, the “reserves” were what was left of other units just as badly hit and equipped as the ones they were sent to reinforce. By 1943, the German forces were being out-shot, out-equiped, and out-manned by their foes.

Another of Ron Ledwell’s classic tales of World War Two told in black-and-white. The technical details are accurate while the stories magnificently focus on the day to day lives of the people involved.
