Triumphant Comics launched their comic universe in early 1993 featuring Doctor Chaos, Prince Vandal, Riot Gear, Scavengers, and the Chromium Man. Triumphant’s universe is remarkable in its commitment to maintaining continuity between the various titles and with established “Triumphant Universe” history. Each story is marked with a “GCY” (Galactic Chronometry Year) date, and timeline diagrams adorn many of the back covers showing how major events fit together. The effect is something of a history lesson for a world which exists only in the imagination.

Triumphant drew upon this tight continuity with their Triumphant Unleashed series, launched some five of our Earth months after the first Triumphant titles appeared. This series is a fast-forward reading of their universe’s history, showing the rise and fall of empires, the birth of heroes, and the story of a vengeful “goddess.”
