series continues as Master of Kung Fu #17

Beginning in 1971, Special Marvel Edition spent most of its three-year run as home to a nondescript set of Thor and Sgt. Fury reprints.

Its last two issues were a different story. With issue #15, Special Marvel Edition introduced Shang-Chi, the Master of Kung Fu. Shang-Chi was a hit, drawing on the Kung Fu craze of the day. Beginning with issue #17, Special Marvel Edition was renamed after its new hero, becoming Master of Kung Fu.
