Archie himself was sometimes hard to find in this spinoff series. Archie’s Madhouse instead featured various backup characters, as well as a stable of unrelated humor and adventure characters such as Professor Transistor and Captain Sprocket.

The highlight of the series was undoubtedly issue #22’s introduction of Sabrina, the Teen-Age Witch. This likable character would later cross over into the core Archie titles, as well as making numerous cartoon and live-action TV appearances.
