Ash: Fire and Crossfire
(Event, 1999)
™ and ©1999 Quesada & Palmiotti
Veterans Jimmy Palmiotti and Joe Quesada, creators of the first Ash series, return with the help of Starman (2nd Series) writer James Robinson for another go-round with their flame-retardant super-hero.
Things are turning personal for Ashley Quinn, mild-mannered firefighter for Ladder Company #2. While trying to quell gang upheaval so normal people can live out their lives in peace, some unknown evildoer plants a bomb in his mother’s house. As luck would have it, Ashley’s mother wanders out to hang the laundry just before the house explodes. Though his mother is still alive, it seems doubtful that she will survive. Ashley becomes Ash and tracks down the sinister Actor who has been blowing up warehouses in order to put the Russian mob out of business and take over the entire city. When confronted, however, the Actor denies any involvement. Who then is this malefluent presence seeking revenge on Ash and his family?
