Dragons that are more cuddly than threatening, martial arts expertise, and lesbian insinuations are the elements in the popular fantasy world of Queen Jatarri, the Animal Mystic. This title picks up the exploits of Queen Jatarri after her adventures on the world of Praktill. A mystical dragon–like messenger known as Mota transports Queen Jatarri and her paramour Ryntha, the sensuous feline creature from Praktill, to the faraway planet of Antakia. There she becomes embroiled in a dispute caused by the pollution being generated by the fortress of the dictator, Lord Multa, and the underwater city of Marinopolis that is threatened with destruction because of it.

Water Wars features full–color artwork which serves to give this series a lighter tone than its precursor, Animal Mystic.
