This black-and-white digest comic from writer/artist Lea Hernandez is called “Scientific Romance” by acclaimed scribe Warren Ellis (StormWatch, Excalibur, The Authority), who also describes its creator as “obviously barking mad” for “producing comics for girls.” And he means that in the best possible way.

This sequel to Hernandez’ Cathedral Child follows Temperance, a woman who can read the final thoughts of the dead, and her companion Amy, as they become embroiled in a plot involving a murderer and his accomplice in New Orleans in 1897. Will Amy’s gentle nature mean the end of our heroines? What miracle is she destined to perform that will outstrip anything Temperance has ever conceived of doing? This second volume of the “Texas Steampunk” saga is a must-read.
