Kilgore

    (Renegade, 1987-1988)
™ and ©1987 Brian Chin

There’s not too many stories out there (presented in any medium) that manage to combine war and comedy together successfully. Well, Renegade Press has done it and comicdom should take note!

Here’s the story of Colonel Kilgore, officer in charge of the Inner Circle, the command post of the San Francisco harbor defenses during World War II. After reading the first issue and getting to know Kilgore, you wouldn’t call him all army. In fact, he is very little army—more like dashing and scallywag. Loves booze and women—women and booze. The war only tends to hamper his style. Indeed, Kilgore always manages to stay one step away from a court-martial and when the heat gets hot, he always comes out smelling like Old Spice!
