Razor/Cry No More

    (London Night, 1995)
™ and ©1995 London Night Studios

Creator Everett Hartsoe attempts to clarify Nicole Mitchell’s tragic childhood and to retain her alter ego’s motivations with this one-shot issue. In the original series, Razor exhibited a hair-trigger disposition and possessed an immeasurable savagery, which for some unknown reason has been abandoned. An unlikely combination of feminine vigilantism, overt mature language and themes, black-and-white printing on cheap paper contributed to the series’ underground motif and intensified a reader’s guilty pleasure. The characterization has become more deliberate, more polished and maybe too civilized than the previous rendition. With this series, London Night Studios’ number one bad girl has been stripped of her lethal demeanor and been domesticated for the masses.
