It is many centuries in the future, and industrial civilization is no more. In its place is a great forest, known as the Sea of Corruption, characterized by a poisonous atmosphere that has forced most of the surviving population to small communities on its outskirts. Some mysterious individuals do live there, but are feared by the majority of the world’s inhabitants. One community, the peaceful kingdom known as the Valley of the Wind, is drawn into the battles between various small governments that typify the world. Only young Nausicaa is capable of preventing the tiny kingdom from being wiped out…or is she? Events may conspire to take her out of the picture—or alternately, enable her to make the world a better and closer place.
