Kalamazoo Comix

    (Alternate Concepts, 1996-1997)
™ and ©1997 John G. BArrett & Johnny Lauck

Kalamazoo Comics is an amateur fanzine packaged to look enough like a regular comic book to get some distribution in comic stores. Editors Johnny Lauck and John Barrett solicit unpaid contributions from Michigan area creators, then print what they get, as is, in rugged black and white on newsprint paper. The results range from standard super-hero fare to alternative and autobiographical strips, with quite a broad spectrum of quality represented. Don’t like a story? Skip to the next one: Kalamazoo Comics is packed thick with over 20 different features.
