King of modern comic horror, Steve Niles (30 Days of Night, Dark Days, Criminal Macabre: A Cal McDonald Mystery) returns to the genre with this tale of a post–apocalypse America and the zombies that infest it. When the world finally comes to its senses and decides to eradicate all nuclear weapons, the entire population is on the precipice of utopian peace and harmony. Too bad human nature gets in the way, and the device envisioned to save the world destroys it instead! The result is radiated mutant-zombies, undead creatures bent on eating the flesh of the few humans left unaffected by the catastrophe. In the grand tradition of George Romero’s classic zombie films and more recent comic ventures into the sub-genre like The Walking Dead (Image), Niles’s latest schlock masterpiece is a must for fans of brain–eating freaks.
