Marvel Age Spider-Man

If the stories in this Spider-Man title seem somewhat familiar to longtime comic book fans, they should… after all, they were first presented several decades ago by Marvel’s greatest creators. Stan Lee and Steve Ditko are credited here as plotters, since it is their early tales of the novice webslinger and his alter ego’s struggles to get through high school that inspire these issues. Early tales of Peter Parker’s first meetings with J. Jonah Jameson and Betty Brant have been resurrected with Spider-Man’s initial encounters with such villains as the Vulture, and the stories are re-imagined, and re-presented by new writers and artists.

The title’s primary goal may be to introduce new readers to Marvel’s storied history, but longtime readers might enjoy the nostalgic look back on those days as well. By Daniel Quantz and Mark Brooks.
