In a world of flying ships and air pirates, Sheeta possesses a priceless jewel and doesn’t even realize it. When pirates raid the airship she’s traveling in, she seemingly falls to her death, but is saved by the hidden powers of her mysterious necklace. She joins up with Pazu after “landing” near his home, and he is able to hide her in his mining town for a short time as those searching for the levitation stone on her neck draw closer. Now they’re racing against both pirates and the military to find Laputa, a mythical city in the clouds that may be their only hope for peace. A graphic novelization of the anime movie of the same name, Castle in the Sky comes from Hayao Miyazaki, the celebrated creator of Spirited Away, My Neighbor Totoro, and Kiki’s Delivery Service.
