“The Only Thing You Know is the Names” was the tag line that promoted the Tangent imprint from DC Comics in the summer of 1997.

This title is the most unusual of the Tangent line. Rather than a super-hero, the Green Lantern of the Tangent Universe is a mysterious woman who uses her lantern to return the dead to life so they can perform one final mission and rest in peace. The title character serves as host and narrator in a framing sequence before and after each story, much like Cain or Abel of DC’s mystery titles, House of Mystery and House of Secrets, although her style of narration is much more colloquial. The stories feature characters that support events in other Tangent titles, such as the escalation of the Cuban Missile Crisis and the United State’s subsequent war in Czechoslovakia.
