Bijou Funnies

    (Kitchen Sink, 1968-1973)
™ and ©1973 Bijou Publishing Empire

Bijou offers the very best (or worst, depending on your point of view) talent and stories that the underground comix genre has to offer. Issue #8 did a fine job of spoofing the rest of the comix genre. Foremost among the offerings would have to be the “furshlugginer” Geek Brothers, three whacked-out guys whose only concern is their next high and the munchies to go with it. Other characters that might pop in (usually things are popping up!) include Melvin Wizard, Pard’n’Nat, Melvin Natural, the Checkered Cherub, Hungry Irving Biscuits, and any other sex-crazed oddballs and “freakazoids” that the creators can imagine.
