Green Lantern Corps: Recharge

With Hal Jordan back as the featured act in the regular Green Lantern series, this series now seems to serve as a place for both Kyle Rayner and Guy Gardner to shine. The two have been summoned by the Guardians to serve with Kilowog as teachers for the latest recruits. The Corps is being put back together to combat a mysterious force that is killing Green Lanterns across the universe. So, if you prefer your GLs New School, you’ll like this series.

Along with Kyle and Guy, a host of other, new Green Lanterns are introduced, including interesting races. We see a couple of players from the Rann/Thanagar War and one from the home world of Sinestro given their rings.

The story does an adequate job of introducing readers to the series premise and characters. With the story told in a 48-page format, there’s plenty of room for detail, and readers certainly get enough.

The art is strong throughout, featuring a good distinction of the characters and races, highly detailed backgrounds, and high-quality storytelling.
