Tiny Tot Comics
(E.C., 1946-1947)
™ and © William M. Gaines, Agent
The Tiny Tots are a collection of good-natured animals, puppets, and other creatures who are always involved in one adventure or another. Dunny, the flying donkey, Petey Pig, and Clippety Clop the wooden boy are just a few of these lovable characters. Oddly enough, many of the Tiny Tots resemble more well-known personalities from companies like Disney and Warner Bros.
This title was part of the Educational Comics stable, published by Max Gaines. When Max died in 1947, his son Bill took over the floundering company and did away with titles like Tiny Tot Comics and the Happy Houlihans. Under Bill Gaines’ leadership, EC went to new heights with such genre-oriented comics as Vault of Horror, and became most wellknown for the enduring and satirical Mad magazine.
