Malibu Comics made quite a splash with the 1994 debut of their Bravura line of creator-owned comics. The Bravura Preview books were used as teasers to introduce readers to the new line.

Bravura’s first year included the mystery/horror title ’Breed by Jim Starlin, Howard Chaykin’s heroic redux Power & Glory, Walt Simonson’s space-adventure title Star Slammers, a new Dreadstar (Malibu) series by Peter David and Ernie Colón, and super-powered action title Edge by Steven Grant and Gil Kane.

1995’s preview book introduced readers to Bravura’s new line-up. Leading off the pack was action-romance Strikeback!, Jim Starlin’s ’Breed II, Daniel Brereton’s moody Nocturnals, Marv Wolfman’s action-packed The Man Called A-X, and Norm Breyfogle’s search for meaning in Metaphysique.
