Marvel Comics: 2001

    (Marvel, 2001)
™ and ©2001 Marvel Characters, Inc.

Produced as the “official convention comic “of 2001, this one-shot showcases Marvel’s new titles and special projects planned for the latter half of that year. Offered free at various conventions, the book gives fans a sneak peek at new characters like Nightside and Bloodstone, as well as a look at projects starring established characters, such as Deadpool, the X-Men, and the Avengers. For convenience, and probably to forestall fans with armloads of comics, the book also includes special autograph pages pre-printed with the names of artists and writers expected to appear at the conventions. Its main claim to fame, however, and its real value to serious collectors, is the first look at Origin, the long-awaited mini-series by Paul Jenkins and Andy Kubert that finally explores the early life of Wolverine.
