This series was a chance for several of the lesser-known characters in the Marvel Universe to get their time on the page. The series ran in several issue-long story arcs, each crafted by different creative teams.

Issues #1–3 starred the Invaders, a World War II group of super-heroes who battled the Nazis (and Baron Strucker and the Red Skull, in particular). This was followed by Roger Stern and Mike Manley’s run on the Monster Hunters beginning with issue #4. Overall, the series was enjoyable enough, although its place in the back lot of the Marvel titles virtually guaranteed that nothing of much significance would take place in its pages.
