Bobby Benson’s B-Bar-B Riders (Magazine Enterprises)

First, it was a popular radio program, in which a teenaged boy, Bobby Benson, “The Cowboy Kid,” and his cowboy friends righted wrongs and had all sorts of adventures. This comic series continues the tradition, with action centered around his ranch in the 1950s Great American West. Joined by ranch hand and mentor Tex and associates Windy, Irish, and others, he breaks up cattle rustling rings, captures poachers, and uncovers other criminal acts even while attending state fairs. For all the action, though, the tales are relatively lighthearted and innocent, befitting their young star.
