This three-issue limited series is a prequel to the 2000 20th Century Fox animated film about humanity’s survival after Earth has been destroyed by an evil alien race called the Drej. The story here focuses on the events that lead to the events in the film. A scientific outpost that is working to ensure mankind’s survival is under siege by the Drej, and the Drej royal family is at odds over what planet to attack next. But as you can imagine, things aren’t looking good for Earth. Can the human race hold off the Drej and preserve their future? A bit of a silly question, but it’s good stuff nonetheless. This tale functions as a proper lead-in to the film, although the art style is a bit edgier than that of the source material.
