This three-issue mini-series adapts one of the more grisly—yet strangely compelling—slasher movies to come down the road. Herschell Gordon Lewis’ 2000 Maniacs is set in the deep South, in the innocuous sounding town of Pleasant Valley. Six travelers heading down a nearby road found themselves detoured into Pleasant Valley, where they were enticed into becoming the guests of honor at the town’s Centennial Celebration.

Little did they know that the town was run by Yankee-hating maniacs—a whole town of them. And when the mayor invited them to the barbecue that night, they never dreamed that they would be on the menu!
