This one-shot presented the origin of Galactus, ravager of worlds. Collected from various sources, the Lee-Kirby masterwork is presented here for the first time. In it we learn that, in a time before recorded history, the universe was being slowly destroyed by a strange radiation. The last world to be destroyed was Taa, an incredibly advanced world whose people had turned it into a paradise.

Wanting at least to die gloriously, many of the inhabitants boarded a ship and set it for the heart of their sun. As the universe ended, a voice spoke out to the last person alive on the ship. The voice was the sentience of the universe, and it offered to join with the survivor. Though both entities would die, they would produce an heir—a being of almost limitless power—known as Galactus.
