Kelly and her colleagues had bravely undertaken a six-month test of a suspended animation system. When they awoke, however, thirty years had passed. The cause for their delayed awakening was a brutal atomic war that had wiped out civilization while they slept, unaware.

Waking, Kelly and the rest found themselves on a new world, where mutants fought for control over what remained of Earth. Kelly, meanwhile, found her son alive in New York, where he ran the entire city. He had also had a hand in creating the Ex-Mutants, stars of Eternity’s popular super-hero series.

This series mixes post-apocalyptic science-fiction with humor and adventure in equal doses. Surprisingly long-lived for an Eternity series, it ran some seventeen issues (plus an annual) in the late 1980s.
