Young Love (Crestwood)

    (Crestwood, 1949-1956)

This was a companion title to Young Romance (Prize), Joe Simon and Jack Kirby’s seminal love comic. The stories were the standard concerns of romance comics involving love entanglements, dating and relationship problems, and personal life experiences. Also included were the traditional advice columns (“Nancy’s Hale’s Problem Clinic: Treatment for the Troubled Heart”), beauty columns, and stories that asked the readers to write in to solve a particular girl’s problem. It’s an example of the wide range of comics genres previous decades enjoyed.
