Ka-Zar (1st Series)

    (Marvel, 1970-1971)
™ and ©1970 Marvel Entertainment Group

As well as starring in many issues of Astonishing Tales, Ka-Zar got his own—albeit short-lived—series in 1970. Like Astonishing Tales, this was a 25¢, giant-sized series with several stories per issue. The Ka-Zar stories were reprints from his previous run-ins with characters such as Spider-Man and Daredevil. Ironically, the backup stories featuring the X-Men’s Angel were the only new material.

This series closed down after just three issues, although Marvel would take numerous tries at a Ka-Zar series in the years to come.
