Ross Campbell’s Wet Moon is a rarity in that it’s a slow–moving comic in which the pace is wholly justifiable, and pays off in his carefully metered execution of characterizing actions and reactions. Campbell’s burgeoning cast of characters (there’s a helpful guide in the back of the book) are mostly goth and punk kids attending college, though shy Cleo holds center stage. It might remind you of a grungier Love & Rockets, a perfect candidate for a Slave Labor Graphics book that Oni happened to snag first. The truth is, it’s a pleasure just to watch each character interact with another, the environment, or a bathroom mirror.
